Fundraising April Update
Alison Tutt, the academy coordinator for Somerset Academy, has been selling refreshments over the winter. Teas, coffees and yummy cakes. In total she has raised £181.85 and evidently fuelled success as Dan Williams, Molly Rucklidge, Will Field and Thomas Pritchard managed an awesome 2nd at Devon County Show.
Students from Berkshire College of Agriculture organised an Equine Lameness Detection demo with Farr & Pursey Vets. The day was a huge success raising a huge £851.08 and teaching everyone about both inhand and ridden lameness detection!
Our good friends at The King WIlliam in Wanstrow hosted a successful Bingo, Willberry reckons he was the real winner though as £205 was raised towards his mission to keep #kickingcancersbutt.
Maddie Wilson took fundraising to a new extreme with her incredible husky trail through Lapland. To read more about it head to her just giving page; https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/m-wilson13. Her total is so far smashing her £4000 target, and that's before counting a £2000 payment sent directly too us. Incredible work.
Bech Hut Berry is a very busy Berry indeed. Owned by Vicki James, amongst getting up to all sorts of fun he also has a collection pot at his beach hut. A brilliant £80 has been sent to us from it - good job!
Siobhan was not content with doing just one marathon.. oh no she did six in six days in the Sahara! Blimey, Willberry's exhausted after just that sentence. To read more about her story her just giving is: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/siobhanmicklethwaite. Its currently at an outstanding £6400.
Durham Equine Practice held a raffle at their client evening on April 10th. Thanks to their awesome prizes and generous clients £169 is heading in Willberry's direction.
First year Equine Performance & Business Management degree students from Writtle University, put on their organising hats to host an unaffiliated showjumping event. It was a great success and raised £343.08!
Heartbreakingly Farley Hall Riding Club has been forced to close due to lack of uptake despite the tireless work of the committee. Team Willberry are sending huge condolences to everyone involved. As part of the dissolution of the riding club, BRC requires them to donate their money to 'not-for-profit' organisations. Willberry was touched that £1020.15 of the money came his way. Thank you.
Stables Equine Practice collection pot sent in £5.57. It really is true that every single penny counts when it comes to fighting cancer.
Emma Murray pounded London pavements for the marathon, raising an awesome £4061. What a bucket-list thing to accomplish, and will allow others with serious illness to also tick something off of theirs.
Loraine Bicknell from Laflex Equestrian are selling their near perfect clothing and donating £10 to us from each sale. What a clever idea to reduce waste and keep Hannah's legacy alive.
Super XCountry had the excellent idea of creating XC sets for those lucky Berry Ponies. They send a percentage of their takings, and so far a super £50 has been sent to keep #kickingcancersbutt and #makingmemories.
